Troubleshooting Why Tracksolid GPS Tracker Web Server is Offline?

Several problems are frequently asked regarding GPS tracker web servers. Some of them are why the status of the GPS tracker device is offline?

Since 2014, most of the main problems are in the device trouble from our experience dealing with offline GPS tracker problems. Not from the webserver. Because if the server is down, you can't log in.

For that problem, we need a gradual check:

1. Send SMS command: PARAM#

To ensure that the GPS tracker IMEI is correct with what is registered to the webserver.

2. Send SMS command: GPRSSET#

To ensure that the GPRS settings are correct.

a) If GPRS: OFF

Send SMS command: GPRSON,1#

b) If the APN is not correct

Send SMS command, for example, if using Telkomsel: APN,telkomsel,wap,wap123#

c) If the webserver is not correct

Send SMS command: SERVER,0,47.89.58.215,21100,0#

3. Send SMS command: STATUS#

a) If the answer is:

  • GPRS: Link Up
  • GSM Signal Level: Strong
  • GPS: Successful positioning

The GPS tracker is connected to the webserver. You can check the web page. If still offline, try refreshing the web page or restart the application.

b) If the answer is:
  • GPRS: Link Down
  • GSM Signal Level: Strong
  • GPS: Searching satellite

Try checking with SMS command GPRSSET# again. Probably the APN is still wrong.

c) If the answer is:
  • GPRS: Link Up
  • GSM Signal Level: Strong
  • GPS: Searching satellite

Wait for a little longer. The GPRS connection progress is faster than the GPS. The GPRS signal is also stronger than the GPS. If the GPS is still searching the satellite after a few minutes, try taking the GPS tracker outdoor. Make sure the GPS tracker installation position is not reversed.

4. If the SMS is not sent

  • This meant that there is a possibility that the GPS tracker device dies, the sim card has expired, or no signal. Must be physically checked by removing sim card.
  • Turn off the GPS tracker and then turn it back on. If the led is not on, chances the GPS tracker is damaged.
  • Check the sim card using a cellphone. Can you send an SMS? Also, check the signal strength and the remaining credit.
  • If the sim card has a problem, replace the sim card immediately.
  • If the sim card can send SMS, test again on the GPS tracker device outdoor.
  • Pay attention to the led status. If the led is still quick flashing that means is still searching for a signal.
  • If you don't get a signal, even though you can try on your cellphone and connected. Immediately contact the seller of the GPS tracker. Usually, there is still a guarantee for 1 year.
